Frequently Asked Questions

My partner and I have different levels of experience. Will this be a problem? Not at all. Your instructor will give individual pointers that suit your specific level of experience (to make it interesting and productive for both of you) while bringing up the less experienced dancer. The ultimate goal is having you dance well together.
What should we wear? Wear comfortable clothes for moving! The studio atmosphere is casual. Bring or wear shoes with leather soles--they work better for dancing on the wood floors--or bring your wedding shoes (or ones similar to those you'll be wearing at your wedding). You can start to break them in and get accustomed to dancing in them.
Can we have a private class with just our family and friends? Yes. We can either design a custom one-day workshop for you, or you can do several semi-private lessons with your group. Just contact us to work out the details.
Will we be in a private room for private lessons? It depends. Private lessons are usually held in a large room where another instructor or two is giving a lesson. This system works quite well, since we will not want to play our music at all times. On some occasions, there may be no other lessons scheduled and you will have the room to yourselves. The busiest times at the studio are weeknights, 6-8pm, so during those hours you will likely see other lessons going on.
If we want to be in a private room for private lessons, can that be arranged? Absolutely. You will likely need to book your lesson(s) a bit further in advance as private rooms do get filled up, but we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. Depending on what room is booked, there will be an additional surcharge for the lesson(s). Please contact us for details.
Can we video our lessons to help us remember what to practice? Yes. You are welcome to bring a video camera (and a tripod is recommended as well) to video your dance lessons. This is a great way to create a guide for practicing your dancing at home.
What is your refund policy? As long as you cancel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled lesson, you can reschedule with no penalty or request a refund if necessary. For a missed or late-canceled private lesson, we will refund the cost less a $35 cancellation fee. There are no refunds or credits for late-canceled or missed classes.
